Southwest Music Academy provides piano classes in area daycares as well as private piano lessons in El Paso and Las Cruces. Plus, we offer a complete line of books, The Easiest Way to Learn Piano Keyboard, the perfect teaching tool for piano teachers and self-study students.

Our director, Shirley Rhoades-Shannon, is an accomplished musician with nearly 40 years of professional performance and music teaching experience. A violinist by degree (B.A. and M.A. in Music Education from New Mexico State University), Mrs. Rhoades-Shannon previously worked as a music teacher in the Las Cruces public school system and as a church organist and choir director. As director of Southwest Music Academy, she has taught hundreds of students to play the piano in El Paso, Las Cruces and Alamogordo.
